You fell in love with him once – and you’ll fall in love with him all over again!

Raymond Lauchengco – artist extraordinaire, actor, director, event organiser but first and foremost – undeniably, one of the Philippines’ top balladeer.  He’s good looking, sophisticated, polished, oozes with charm and his velvety voice  has propelled him to stardom with guaranteed longevity.

This year, Raymond Lauchengco celebrates his 40th year in the entertainment industry and he embarks on a “Forever” Australian Tour to include Brisbane (June 7), Sydney (June 14), Newcastle (June 21) and Melbourne (June 22)).  In Sydney, music lovers can catch his “Forever” Concert on Friday, 14 June at Smithfield RSL Club.  Show starts at 7.00pm and Raymond is all set to take his audience back to the 80s to reminisce and relive the music of the times.

“I’m excited to go back to an all-80’s hit show,” says Raymond. “It’ll be an upbeat show. It’s embracing the roots that produced me,” he adds. The audience will be swinging, singing and dancing!  But get ready when he serenades his fans with his chart-topping ballads. With hits like “I Need You Back,” “So It’s You,” “Tell My Heart,” In My Dreams,” “Just Believe,” “Just Got Lucky,” “Still in Love” along with his OPM songs and of course, “Farewell My Friend” which has become the national anthem for end-of-year school terms will undoubtedly thrill. He has proven time and time again his star power as a balladeer.

Every song has a story to tell, evoking memories of love and hope. His smooth, diction-perfect, vocals is filled with emotion that will send ‘a-tingling’ down your spine and it’s bound to send the audience into raptures.

Lauchengco burst into musical theatre for Repertoire Philippines at the age of 12 in “The King and I”; then appeared as one of the seven children in “Sound of Music. He remained with Repertory Philippines until he was 18 performing in “Sweeney Todd.”

Spotted by Sharon Cuneta, he then leaped into the cinema and then landed a role in the television show “Bagets” – the show that defined the 80s generation and turned him into a matinee idol. But his caressing vocals and inimitable style captivated audiences and propelled him to the top. From then on, he was simply unstoppable.

He continues to thrill audiences and he has performed in over 30 countries. Likewise, he has directed numerous live events around the world for both the private and corporate sectors garnering multiple accolades along the way.  He clinched The Aliw Award for Best Concert Collaboration for the concert series “The Best of Us” and the Gold Record Award for the album, “Raymond”. He proudly represented the Philippines at the Cultural Music Exchange and at the Tokyo Music Festival in 1987.

Struck by the pandemic and life’s challenges, he discovered another side of him – his artistic self.  He went on to unleash his creativity with his photography and went on to produce beautiful wood carvings  and one-of-a-kind functional art pieces which have been on exhibit. “I like making art with my hands” says Raymond.  “I love pursuing excellence. And when it’s really good, it gives me a lot of fulfilment.”

“But singing is still my first love,” he quips.  “I’m a singer at heart,” says Lauchengco.  “I have so much music in my heart,” he adds.  And that is an absolute certainty! “I am grateful to the fans who have sustained me through the years.  A singer is nothing without an audience,” he humbly quips.

He’ll croon – you’ll swoon! Hold on to your hearts for you’re bound to fall in love with him all over again. After all, Raymond Lauchengco is “Forever”.
