It’s all systems go for the Filipino Communities Council of Australia (FILCCA).  The 14th National Conference is all set for 27-28-29 October 2016 in Toowoomba, Queensland.

It will be a time of cammaraderie and friendship.  It’ll be a time of sharing and learning.  “This is the perfect time to connect to the Filipino community,” said FILCCA President, Aida Garcia.  “Anyone with an interest in the Filipino community and the Philippines is welcome to attend.  It’ll be a time to unwind from the daily grind and relax amidst the lush greens of the City Golf Club at Toowoomba.”

The three-day national conference will feature topics such as: Romancing the Media with speakers from the ABC and Channel 9; Immigration; Domestic Violence with speakers Dr. Linda Murray PhD and John Mintz.  It will also include relevant topics for the youth as well as the elderly; the changing world of digital technology; and business trends and solutions for entrepreneurs.

“It’ll be an opportunity for community leaders from all States to share their concerns and experiences on any of the above-mentioned issues“said Ms. Garcia.

The event also coincides with 120 years of Filipino settlement in Australia and the 70th Anniversary of Philippine Australian diplomatic Relations.  “Celebrating such milestones makes us realize how far we’ve come and how much, we Filipinos, have contributed to this country, we now call home,” said Ms. Aida Garcia, FILCCA President.
