Singer, songwriter, comedian and all-around entertainer, Mikey Bustos will be bringing his “Palengke Tour” to Australia for a three city tour to include Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney from February 19 to 20, 2016. (Details below)

Filipino Canadian, Mikey Bustos, made a name for himself after joining the Canadian Idol Singing competition and ranked 8th in the competition. It opened doors for him in the entertainment industry with offers for front acts for big name stars.
However, he burst into the internet and became a you tube sensation for his irreverent but fond look at the Filipino culture and traditions. Dubbed as the original “Pinoy boy”, his comedy skits are fused with songs, wrapped in humour and wit, and rolled out in perfect comedic timing. With Mikey Bustos, nothing is sacred! With innocent look to match, he tackles the Filipino’s idiosyncrasies that uniquely define us as a people. “It’s being to laugh at ourselves and accepting who we are. It really is all about Pinoy pride.”

His delves on everything Filipino, from the tricycles to jeepneys; our gastronomical delights from adobo to balut; balikbayan boxes and padalas; and best of all his mimicry of the Filipino’s version of English plus our accent. It’s a send-up like no other that will have you in stitches or falling off your seats with laughter!

Even better is that the concert is all for a good cause. Proceeds of the concert will go to the Appledrive Project spearheaded by his manager, RJ Garcia in which he also gets involved in.

The Appledrive Project is the brainchild of Romeo “RJ” Garcia, Bustos’ manager and who also happens to be the winner of Western Union’s “Heroes for Better” competition. It’s about recognizing ordinary individuals doing extraordinary things in the hope of making the world we live in, a better place. The initiative provided “apples” to children in remote areas in the Philippines, who had never seen, let alone tasted an apple. The project has now expanded to promote healthy eating and lifestyle with “an apple a day.” He received $25,000 towards his project and was recognized at Western Union’s 25th Anniversary last year.
