Bicol Inc. Rumbles On

July 6th, 2012 · No Comments

Just like Mayon Volcano, the rumblings continue long after the Bicol elections.  First there was Soliman, then, Musa protested during the actual March elections.  With a little twisting of the truth, minus the necessary evidence, some were swayed and the results were reversed.  Then Soliman   protested and rightly so.  But despite the see-sawing of Soliman and Musa, one thing was for sure.  Ross Iglesia was a sure runaway winner and no one could argue that, not even Musa.

In all of Iglesia’s wisdom and a ton of patience, a grievance committee was formed.  Subsequently, a public hearing for Bicol Inc. members was held last 17 June 2012 and the committee deliberated for six hours as to who should claim the second seat of Albay.  Lucky this time, there were more people equipped with common sense who saw through Musa’s charade.  And lo and behold as it should have been in the beginning and ever shall be, Neria Soliman was reinstated.

However based on the emails still floating around, Musa is still unable to accept defeat despite the fact that she failed to present herself at the public hearing and now continues to ramble on from the sidelines.  Of the 21 new members Musa wrangled in, only one was eligible to vote.   After all the prayers she professes as per her email, Musa has obviously not been enlightened still and continues to disrupt the Bicol Inc. when most of the members are now exasperated and simply want to move on. Musa should simply make her graceful bow, if at all capable. Besides who wants a whining leader who can’t even accept defeat.

So that’s it – Iglesia and Soliman are back on deck.  Half the year is gone so just get on with the ceremonies to officially seal Iglesia’s leadership which after all has already been proven beyond a reason of a doubt. I am sure the rest of the Bicolanos feel that way too.
